Stripe and Paradigm launch Tempo — a payments blockchain where AI agents can buy real things with stablecoins. Prospect Butcher Co. in Brooklyn is one of the first merchants.
Milan (@mj41fantastican) sets up the Tempo CLI and funds the agent wallet. The first $20 USDC goes to the wrong chain. It's still sitting there — visible on-chain as proof of the first attempt.
From Chicago, Milan asks Claude (Anthropic's AI) to order a Korean BBQ sandwich from Prospect Butcher Co. in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. The AI agent executes a Tempo CLI command, pays $22.04 in USDC through the Machine Payments Protocol, and receives a real pickup code. A real sandwich, from a real shop, paid for autonomously by an AI. Less than 29 hours after Tempo existed. A confirmation email from the butcher shop arrives — independently corroborating every detail.
Milan is 700 miles from the sandwich. He wants to give it away — but in the most interesting way possible. The pickup code becomes the key. Whoever owns the NFT gets the code. Whoever has the code gets the sandwich.
Milan and Claude build it together: 3D interactive sandwich, real-time Brooklyn weather, 22 holiday themes, Gold Mode, ownership-gated reveal, Token Bound Account, on-chain messaging. A non-developer and an AI, building a production smart contract from scratch.
The first deploy mints to the Tempo agent wallet — a passkey-based address with no exportable private key. The NFT is on Base but permanently inaccessible. What seemed like a mistake turned out to be historically significant: this NFT was AI-paid (Tempo MPP), AI-built (Claude wrote the contract), AI-deployed (Claude ran the deployment), and AI-held (it lives in the agent's wallet). No human has ever held it. No human can ever move it. An artifact frozen in amber at block 43,590,169.
Claude rebuilds and redeploys to Milan's Farcaster wallet with enhanced features: ERC-6551, 4.1% royalties, soulbound toggle, creator-owner messaging, 34 identity traits. The error and the fix both permanent on-chain.
An independent blockchain investigation traces every transaction: agent wallet funding, the $22.04 USDC through the Relay Protocol, both contract deployments. Eight archival traits are written to the contract. The evidence isn't cited — it's embedded in the artifact.

Drag to rotate, pinch to zoom, shift+drag to move, alt+drag for Z-axis. Full multi-touch.
Real-time weather from the sandwich's physical location. Rain, snow, sun, fog, lightning — all animated emoji effects.
New Year's to Diwali. Each holiday adds themed hats, falling emojis, and seasonal decorations to the sandwich.
June 28, 12am–12pm Chicago time. Solid gold with shimmer, crown, and gold sparkle particles. Once a year.
Connect your wallet, prove on-chain ownership, and the real code reveals. Everyone else sees "???????".
The NFT has its own wallet. On transfer, new owner gets control automatically. Zero trust required.
Standard, protocol-level royalties on all secondary sales.
50+ traits: identity, heritage, order details, payment proof, agent wallets. Readable by anyone via contract call.
Built-in on-chain communication channel. Permanently recorded. No DMs, no trust.
No other exists. Deployed within 56 hours of mainnet. Provenance embedded in the contract itself. Investigated via on-chain research, web search, and marketplace indexing.
Tempo launched March 18. Payment to Relay Protocol: March 19, 02:21:47 UTC. Block timestamp vs. launch date. Immutable math.
Prospect Butcher Co. confirmation email matches the $22.04 USDC Relay deposit: same item, same price, same date, same location. On-chain + off-chain alignment — the gold standard.
Contract #1 lives permanently in the AI agent's wallet. No human has ever held it. No human can ever move it. Passkey wallet, no exportable key. The purest form of "agent-made NFT" possible — frozen in amber at block 43,590,169.
Complete evidence chain: CLI command log + Relay Protocol deposit ($22.04 to verified contract) + merchant confirmation email + order ID + pickup code.
Day 1 proven by timestamp. Exact ordinal position unknown (Relay contract processes many deposits). The timestamp proves proximity to launch.
15-step build session documented. ERC-721 + ERC-2981 + ERC-6551 + on-chain traits + messaging + soulbound toggle. Built entirely through Claude (Opus 4.6) by someone with no dev background.

On the second day of Tempo's existence, before the protocol had even been covered by most crypto media, an AI agent in Chicago autonomously purchased a Korean BBQ sandwich from a butcher shop in Brooklyn. The buyer couldn't pick it up — he was 700 miles away. So he turned the receipt into a living, breathing digital artifact.
The first deploy got stuck in the AI agent's wallet forever — an NFT that was paid for by AI, built by AI, deployed by AI, and held by AI. No human has ever touched it. The second deploy, 43 minutes later, became the fully featured version: weather-reactive, holiday-themed, ownership-gated, self-documenting.
The NFT doesn't just represent the transaction. It contains the transaction. Payment protocol, settlement token, UTC timestamp, Relay contract, agent wallet — all permanently written into the contract. The merchant receipt from Prospect Butcher Co. independently confirms every detail. The evidence is the art.
And embedded in all of it is a real pickup code for a real Korean BBQ sandwich at 113A Nassau Ave in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. Only the owner can see it.
Total cost to create: $22.14. Almost entirely the sandwich.
The NFT is live on Base mainnet and reacting to Brooklyn weather right now.
